Ok I have been having this problem for some time now over the last year – the car will just die lucky when I park it at home. Few days later it would start?? First couple of times I replaced the coil pac and nothing so i put the old one back in. tinkered with it some more replaced fuel filter. Fuel pump sounds like it is working fine. I also replaced the neg. ground cable once and it started I thought that was the problem. NOT!
This last time a week ago it did it again cranks over but no start no spark – Where is the computer located on a 98 anyways ?? I would change that if I could find it. Help Please! |

Re: 98 taurus won’t start no spark no fuse problem?
If it has no spark, check the crank sensor or the connector first.

Oh you are the man that was just the thing! It all makes sense a magnet for a sensor - The magnet would get weak and when I would let set it would re-magnetize just long enough till the next time it would die. Thanks a million! |

Re: 98 taurus won’t start no spark no fuse problem?
The crank sensor will be mounted next to the crankshaft. What year is your Taurus and what engine does it have?
Have you verified the fuel pressure? Are the spark plugs wet after you've been cranking the engine? -Rod |
