Question 1995 Escort LX fuse/bulb question

Hi, I drove into work this morning with absolutely NO panl lights on my dash. I don't know whether this is caused by a blown bulb or a dead fuse, since my owner's guide is at home. Coul someone here please tell La Blonde where to look first? Thanx!

I dont pwrsonallly know but im sure if you looked it up on autozone.com they can point you in the right direction. My opionion is the fuse box is on the drivers side near the gas and brake toward the left. There may be a cover or panel you'll have to remove.

on my 97 escort there is another fuse panel just above the main one mentioned above that houses 2 or 3 fuses. I would bet on a fuse since there is more than one lightbulb that lights up the displays. It would be very unusual for them all to go at once.

Re: 1995 Escort LX fuse/bulb question

rbsteve,
Would that by any chance be the "Joint Box side" that is mentioned in the owners manual for my 95 wagon? I'm trying to see if the fuse is blown for the cig. lighter and that is where it says it is located but it doesn't tell me what/where that is.
Thanks

On my 97 escort, the main fuse panel is by the drivers side left leg, but there is another panel behind and above it which houses the cig lighter fuse and a couple of others. You really have to get down on the ground to see it, but its there. I didnt see any mention of it in my manual, took me quite a time to find it.

i just fixed that problem on my 95 escort lx .. if u look at the fuse box look up at the upper right side and u should see it .. i think it's a 20 fuse but u got to look really good in the upper right corner , it's right beside the box .. can't miss it

Something to remember is that there are several lights in your dash. So if they ALL go out at once then it is unlikely a bulb problem since they would have had to all go out at once. Hopefully it's just a fuse. If it's not a fuse then the dimmer can be bad.
