Fast and the Furious

I feel pitty for the GE shareholders whose Universal division is craking out Revenge of the Rice III (a.k.a. "Fast and the Furious III"). I see more ricers coupled with the degrading acting quality that accompanies most sequels.

Anyone going to submit their GP's? I doubt they will be considered but it would be funny.

Re: Fast and the Furious

the only appeal of the ricer movies is hot women and fast cars. Bad acting could be forgiven, but the Fast and the Furious doesn't deliver on the afformentioned criteria. I think I counted once and in the opening drag race scene, the idiot in the green car shifts like 80 times. Now THAT'S a serious close ratio transmission!!!!!

They make ricer kids who sit in parking lots all night feel like they have a purpose.

Re: Fast and the Furious

Hey watch it, I still sit in the parking lots

Though most of my street racing friends have Trans Ams, Camaros, and Mustangs and can turn a 1/4 mile, uhh, well, a lot faster than me

But every time Johnny Ricer is his fart cannon Civic(or RSX which supposedly "can beat srt-4 neons", heh) comes by, well at least I can put him in his place and my friends don't have to hear his "Well you got 8 cylinders" crap...

Its also funny to use the "You just lost to a freakin' family car(though i dont consider it a family car), now go home" line...

You might be a ricer if...
- After the Prom you watch Fast and Furious
- All of your four letter words you know are in asian

- More than half of your car is primer and fiberglass.
- Adults won't get in the car with you.
- You drive all the backstreets just to avoid speedbumps
- Drag strips tech officials laugh when you try to
enter.
- People hear your fart pipe a long time before they see
it.
- Vehicle safety warnings are issued by the local
authorities when you drive into town.
- Your alternator burns out because of all the add ons
- The brake pedal on your car are are aluminum
- The only thing in your toolbox are zipties for the
neon underbody lights
- The tires on your car are scrape the fender wells
- Your taillight covers are alteezas.
- There are more than five pep boys receipts for
stickers currently on the floorboard of your car
- Your wing is higher in inches than your IQ
- You can hardly wait to graduate from a remedial school
- Your car says Greedy, HKS, or NOS, when its really
just a stock, slow Accord that gramma gave to you
- You drive an Acura Integra, any year
- Your dash is painted yellow and your gauge are indiglo
- Your car is front wheel drive but you have a back wing
- You have wheels that are worth more than the vehicle
- You have a Honda product and you think its fast
- Your car has Konig Tantrums
- Your airdam is bigger than your house
- You base your performance specs on X box games
- You learn your performance tuning from Gran Turisimo
- You associate anything American with "REDNECKS"

Re: Fast and the Furious

When going to the main splash page (automotiveforums.com) they have the letter with what type of cars they want. Here is the excerpt with a point of interest:

Quote:
There is special demand for VIP type cars (dropped and modified Infiniti Q45, Toyota Chaser, etc.) and super-modified mini-vans. But again, we want to emphasize that you should absolutely contact us if you have a RHD vehicle of any type.
That disturbs me. I feel we another doozy lined up.

Re: Fast and the Furious

Apparently, this one is going to be set in Tokyo (why they need the left hand drive vehicles).

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0463985/plotsummary

They are going to run from the one dubbed "The Drift King"

[press release]

"The Fast and the Furious 3" follows the story of Shaun Boswell, who has always been an outsider. A loner at school, his only connection to the indifferent world around him is through illegal street racing -- which has made him particularly unpopular with the local authorities. To avoid jail time, Shaun is sent out of the country to live with his uncle in the military, in a cramped apartment in a low-rent section of Tokyo. In the land that gave birth to the majority of modified racers on the road, the simple street race has been replaced by the ultimate pedal-to-the-metal, gravity-defying automotive challenge ... drift racing, a deadly combination of brutal speed on heart stopping courses of hairpin turns and switchbacks. For his first unsuccessful foray in drift racing, Shaun unknowingly takes on D.K., the "Drift King," with ties to the Yakuza, the Japanese crime machine. The only way he can pay off the debt of his loss is to venture into the deadly realm of the Tokyo underworld, where the stakes are life and death.

Summary written by Press Release

To avoid jail time, street racer Shaun Boswell is sent to live with his uncle in Tokyo. There he discovers drift racing. After losing a race to Yakuza-connected D.K., the Drift King, Shaun has to enter the Tokyo underworld to find a way to pay his debt.

Re: Fast and the Furious

I'm sure the debt this kid has is from modifying his ricer.

Not to mention (and keep carrying on this worthless topic ) rapper Bow Wow will be making an appearence.

Re: Fast and the Furious

Yeah that "You might be a ricer if" is so damn true, its not even funny(especially the "anything American is considered REDNECK" line)...

When we meet up its not a "Hey, check out my neons" meet, usually some "action" is going to be taking place somewhere, in fact about 4 weeks ago we had over 75 cars show up in our "location"(hint: no where near a parking lot or town )

I normally wouldn't condone racing on the street, but they have really given us no choice, they moved our track night to Thursday(who wants to race on thursday? Especially when you go to school and what not)...

But 2 weeks ago they held a "street wars" night at the track(I guess because of the sudden incline in racing, pursuits/crashes) and around 100 cars showed up for that(it was pretty cool because in order to attend you had to pay your track fee at the meeting place, which was a burger place, and then drive your car to the track, if it wasn't a daily driver and couldn't be driven, you didn't attend) and we even had a police escort to the track...

So you would think they would start having it every week to keep us off the street. Right? Wrong, I talked to the track owner and he said that it was more than likely a one time(maybe once every blue moon) thing, his exact words "too much of a hassle having racing on Thursday night and then you guys(us "street racers") tear up the track again on Thursay"...

So now STREET CARS are worse than 700-1000hp drag cars on a track?
