Steering rumble
I have a 2003 Impala 3.4L that has an almost undetectable sort of a rumble or like something is moving apart slightly and coming back, it is being transmitted through the steering wheel and again it is very slight. Just do not want this to turn into something big. It happens at low speeds, starting stopping, making turns, sometime bumps. I checked the motor and trans mounts...any suggestions

Re: Steering rumble
Take a look at your hub bearings. They are notorious for causing the symptoms you describe and are relatively fragile. IF you live in a pothole prone area, it's a good chance you have one going bad.

Are the wheel bearings in a carrier / hub , where the whole hub assembly has to be repl. What would be a test...IF they were bad and I raised up the front would I be able th physically wobble the tire ?

Re: Steering rumble
I beleive there is also a new TSB for the steering intermediate shaft at the bottom of the column for these symptoms also, check with you dealer.
