what engine??????????

Hey everyone! i got a 91 toyota pickup, but i know nothing about it EXCEPT it is a manual and is a 1991 year, but maybe each of you can tell me something new, like what the type of engine it is for example. Thank you.

PS. Hills suck!, with the manual of course.

Re: what engine??????????

Is it a 6 cylinder or a four cylinder? A Haynes manual may help you become more familiar with your pickup.

im not sure if they continued them into 91 but if its a 4 cyl than it is probably a 22RE which is a damn new bulletproof motor. I had an '87 with the 22R and I was doing 48 mph doughnuts in a parking lot in 2nd gear and never even so much as hiccupped. I beat the hell out of that and the '88 that my dad had which had the 22RE. By the way the 22R is a carburated motor whereas a 22RE is fuel injected.

OK, count the number of spark plug wires .
If there are 6 you have the 3.0 V6.
If there are 4 you have a 4 cyl (22RE).

The V6 engine is the 3VZ-E.
The 4 cyl. is the 22R-E.
