Diagnostic port

Hi, I know this may sound stupid, but where is the diagnostic port located on a 1990 Bird? I've heard different things from different people, some say its under the hood, some say under the passenger side dash. Does anyone here know for sure (in case it matters, it's a 3.8L)? If it is under the hood or dash, could you also give me the exact location? Thanks a million.

Re: Diagnostic port

should be at the rear of the passenger side fender well under the hood. its got a plastic cover on it which can be a pain to get off sometimes. the plug is attached to the fender well with one of those annoying plastic pushpins. some cars have a single secondary wire in the same connector, not sure about 1990.

Make sure and read your scanner's instructions carefully.

hope this helped
