1989 caravan transmission

My dad has a 1989 dodge caravan with the 3.0 and the auto transmission. The van has almost 165,000 miles on it and the transmisson was rebuilt about 15K ago. The guy who rebuilt it had to put it in and take it back out three times because it wouldn't work. Finally, it seemed to work after the guy replaced the computer with a used one, but it's back to going into limp-in mode once or twice every couple of days.Any advice on what to do with the van?

Any advice is very appreciated.

Re: 1989 caravan transmission

you probably have a bad solenoid pack; those go regularly, especially on the older model A-604s. Did he use Mopar ATF+3 for transmission fluid?
