Maybe I overlooked something but do you have an alarm? When mine didn't start all the lights and parts were fine it turned out to be the Vehicle Anti Theft System (VATS). There was a little red light blinking under my dash signaling that a little plastic key came loose, so my car thought I was trying to steal it. Just a guess though, good luck...

Same Problem here. I have an 89 Camaro that will not start, when you turn the key over the lights, radio, and gauges all work, but the car doesnt turn over. There is nothing indicating that the starter is getting the signal to turn over. It is just dead, outside of the lights and gauges and such.

We replaced the starter/selinoid, and still nothing. We are clueless, any ideas?

When someone turns the key to start you need verify if there is battery voltag on the S terminal of the starter (usually purple wire). If not then the starters not getting the command to begin the show by either bad ign switch, or anti theft saying theif.

If the car wont start, and there is a chip in the ignition key (you have a VATS system) try this test.
Put the key in the on position, pop the hood, use a screwdriver to connect the posts on the starter (you should see a spark) hold the driver there till the car starts and be careful not to get zapped.
If doing this starts the car when turning the key did not, then the chip on your key isnt being read properly and its time to by-pass the vats system.
I got my by-pass at www.ecklerscamaro.com, comes with easy installation instructions, only takes a couple minutes to put in and is only 29.99 plus shipping... so thirty-semodd-bucks and the problem is gone.
Also, one more good reason to buypass the VATS system is that if you need to make more keys, you dont need to get the ones with the chips, you can buy regular keys.
