advise on amp and subs under 300?
starting off, i've got $300 left on my budget for a system after buying kenwood deck and phoenix gold speaks. I've been looking for an amp, but don't know what to get. recomendations?
should i buy a monoblock and subs, and have my deck power my speaks? average-good 4-channel powering subs and speaks cheap 4 channel + monoblock for subs? i found 2 12" audiobahns 400watts rms in bandpass and a SOUND STORM F2800 amp with 300watts rms x2 for $220 w/o shipping. this forum has been advising against "audiopawn" and i've never heard of Sound Storm. Is this a good buy? Also, say i buy a 2000watt 2-channel legacy LA2060 (used). i can't find rms power anywhere, so how do i know what power subs to get w/o overpowering them?

Re: advise on amp and subs under 300?
Well no and no to both of those audibahn unless its there extremely overpirced stuff sucks ass and from what i know soundstorm sucks as well. Worst off legacy is horribla at rating there amps for power, usually 1000watts is about 200w-rms. Look into a 4channel profile amp good one between 65-115 shipped depending on power. You can use 2 channels for the front or rear speaks and the other 2 channels bridged for the sub. For subs look into incriminator audio, reaudio, soundsplinter ive heard good things about the mbquart subs on other forums but not sure how they actually rate to everything else. Im sure someone else can recomend something better but this should give you an idea.

Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain |
