Good subwoofer brands (need cheap yet good)

Ok ya my dad bought this enclosure

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

and so we need subs

these good?

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-PIONEER-TS-W30...QQcmdZViewItem

kinda funny

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-PIONEER-TS-W30...QQcmdZViewItem

so ya should i go with that ^^

id like to get this amp

http://cgi.ebay.com/Profile-AP1200-2...QQcmdZViewItem

rather than the ap2000 (too much money for me)

but can that handle the 2 subs? (both are 400rms each) would underpowering hurt the subs?

my dad may end up buying this (he never asks me if i want something or if its good, he just gets it, i showed him so ya dunno)

http://cgi.ebay.com/TWO-AUDIOBAHN-AW...QQcmdZViewItem

is it still ok?

are there any cheaper subs that have good power (less than 100, for 2)

Ya my dad wants me to save some money, so i guess the 400w rms pioneers are too much (100 for 2, not including shipping)

so what are some speakers, around 300rms for less than 100 for a pair?

i want a decent brand but ya need to be cheaper, id like DVC

Re: Which subwoofer to choose?

ok well turns out the dude we bought the enclosure from didnt think $51 was enough lol so he relisted and my dad bought this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

looks nicer, woulda been better with more plexi but ya, how is it? it was only 80 shipped

edit: my dads looking at these

http://cgi.ebay.com/Dual-XINC112-12-...QQcmdZViewItem

lol

also these

http://cgi.ebay.com/Kenwood-KFC-W300...QQcmdZViewItem

whats the difference between svc and dvc?

i want some pioneers with dvc for around the same price for 2 (2 kickers equals the price of the 2 pioneers)

Re: Which subwoofer to choose?

those are prefabricated bandpass enclosures. bandpass enclosures need to be built to specific specs of the sub to sound good. i would try an get your money bak, then we can set you up w/ somethin nice.

Re: Which subwoofer to choose?

oh man you have a lot to learn.... the best thing i can tell you is to not rush. the more you rush into a decision on a first set up subs the worse the setup is i guarantee.

audiobahns woofers usually have high distortion, shitty low frequency extension, poor transient response, the list goes on. basically the sound horrible IMO. they are also very cheaply made and overrated. 1000 audiobahn watts probably equates to 300 real world watts.

almost all low end companies are like this. is the company list still in one of the stickies here? if so check that out. its subjective, but its a good list to go by when first getting into audio.

try to sell the box again. it sounds liek a pain but VERY few woofers will even sound decent in it. patience is a virtue. you might be best off building one. sealed boxes are VERy easy to build and ported arent much harder. i woudlnt buy one from ebay though. or online for that matter.

as for subs.. what kind fo sound are you lookign for. do you just want bass for rap or do you want it for rock or all types of music. what smore important to you oputput or sound quality? etc etc.

im sorry you dont have much to spend right now but we can work with it. Comp VRs and memphis power references are in that range. the new alpine type Rs are awesome (theyll push your budget pretty far though im assuming)

check out the RE series from www.reaudio.com and the 187 series from www.incriminatoraudio.com

give us some more info, do some more research, read some reviews, etc etc

Re: Which subwoofer to choose?

i mostly listen to rap, some rock but mostly rap and im in it for bass

i have money (about 200 after buying the amp)

but my dad doesnt want me to spend it, long story short, my moms been out of a job for a year due to cancer which is acting as a disability so the hospital where she worked let her go and she cant find a job now so weve been living off her saved checks and my dads crappy post office job

so ya i dont wanna spend TOO much

but ya i have a ported box, my dad has 2 boxes each with 2 12s, i have no idea what the brands are, but one of the boxes (btw both boxes are really ugly) hits really hard

so if i must, i can always transfer, or build a new box, cuz my dad said if the box he bought doesnt fit, hell use it in the house and for his djing (yes lol)

RMS Output Power (4 Ohms): 200W x 2
Peak Output Power (2 Ohms): 600W x 2
RMS Output Power (2 Ohms): 300W x 2
Bridged RMS Output Power (4 Ohms): 600W x 1
