Squealing Issues
So in the past month we have replaced the front and rear rotors and brake pads. The front end is STILL squealing when I stop. Everything was cleaned properly before installed, everything was installed right. Yet I still have the damn noise!
I have searched through the fourm and can't find anything..is there somthing we missed..or are we missing some other problem all together? |

Did you spread ANTI-Squal on back of all of the pads? If so, did you grease the slidepins? Any play in your hubs?

Re: Squealing Issues
Look for my post/article here. I hope it helps, the same treatment you give ceramic rotors can be applied to semi-metallic brakes which are stock on the older models. Also, NEVER replace pads on ANY of these trucks with full organic brakes. (The $20 box of cheapies)

Re: Squealing Issues
get a grease gun and grease all 11 grease fittings on your truck. Its too easy and cheap not to do. These trucks needs grease about every 3000 miles.

A local mechanic..that works for a Dodge dealership told me to pull the pads out and put a little bit of clear silicone on the back side of the pad and then put it back into place. He says the noise is a tiny vibration but makes a squealing like noise.
Says he fixed many veichles with new pads and rotors doing this..with this fix. Haven't tried it yet, but will post the results here sometime in the next week. |

Re: Squealing Issues
Yea, that will act as an anti-squeal.
