Converting Base Mustang To GT

I often aquire wrecked cars to repair and sell to make a couple grand. I now have a base (v6) 2002 mustang that is wrecked in the front requiring a complete doghouse. I got the idea of converting the body panels over to a GT. The price is the same for the base or GT panels, so I figure why not. I am thinking of keeping this car for myself, so don't think I am trying to rip some unknowning customer off by advertising it as a GT.

What is the difference? Both bumpers, hood, and emblems. Is there anything else that would be noticable? I figure I will run duals out the back otherwise it will be obvious to anyone who knows what they are looking at.

What is the difference between the 2002 base model and 03 cobra? If possible, I would consider converting it over to that.

I did do a search on this forum and a couple other mustang forums but didn't really find anything.

Thanks for your help.

Biggest thing is the entire drivetrain, and the VIN numbers....

Re: Converting Base Mustang To GT

So it is just the bumpers, hood, and emblems?

that sounds like a pretty easy thing. I have also seen that some suspension stuff is different, so I probably switch that over in time. I know I will at least be putting GT swaybars on during the rebuild.

Thanks

Re: Converting Base Mustang To GT

well i meant the bodies are the same. the suspensions in the gt and v6 are basically the same but there are slight differences. the cobra has a very different suspension though.
