Question 97 grand prix GT vs. 99 jetta 4cyl turbo

some one i know wants to race me in my 97 grand prix GT vs him in his 99 jetta with a turbo. what do you guys think will win??? and btw does anyone know the 0-60 for just the GT not the GTP. k thanks

For the 0-60 time, around 7.5 sec is what a GT can run. The stock Jetta GLS, which has the 4 banger, runs about even with a GT, with the GT having a slight edge in the quarter, so id say unless you have some serious mods, he'd win the race. Considering that there was not a stock turbo on the Jetta (unless its a diesel) until 2001, I'm guessing the guy has more than a turbo as well. Basically, I'd say dont waste your gas, it probably won't be worth it.

Try to keep questions like this in the car comparison forum, or maybe even the street racing forum. If they don't help ya, you should ask the guys here, because I'll admit the guys on this forum tend to be better about getting answers. I'm not tryin to freak out or anything, just I was told the same thing after posting pretty much the same kind of question. Anyway, to show you I'm not being a jerk, Welcome to AF.
