water pump removal

im trying to remove the water pump on my 94 tbird 4.6l engine. i have removed all the bolts around the outside edge of the pump but it still wont come off. i have broken the seal around it and can fit a pry bar behind it. but it wont come off. i dont want to force it and break something. there is also a black plastic round tube looking thing attached to the side of the pump. can anyone tell me what this thing is and if it is what is hanging up the water pump?
