94 Jetta timing belt

I just bought this car with 163k miles. the previous owner had it from 145k til now. He never replaced the belt and has no idea if it was done before him.

The manual states to inspect and replace every 60k miles so I will assume it has been done. I checked it tonight and it looks to be in good condition, no cracks, clean, groves look sharp and not rounded, and if I go by the manual for tension, it states I should be able to twist it 1/4 turn no more no less. I can do that.

This being said do you think it's safe to say this belt should be good for awhile and maybe inspect it again in the spring.

Your thoughts.

It sounds okay, also check for any separation or tearing of the teeth from the main part of the belt.
