how reliable are 2g supras
i've seen a 91 supra turbo for sale for 4,900 and it has 130,000 miles on the car and 100,000 on the motor,how reliable is the motor with that many miles? i wonder why he had to get a new motor after 30,000 miles

|
a 91 supra is a 3rd gen and there very reliable except for the motors achilles heel there factory head gasket (probably the reason the seller had to replace the motor). don't let this scare you to much replacing the stock gasket with a metal one (hks, greddy...) turns the motor bullitproof
and capable of sustaining 500hp with stock internals. if you do decide to buy the car get a mechanic to check for signs of gasket failure or previous head work.
