belts

I have a 97 trooper that keeps breaking belts. No overheating or dimming of lights or loss of power except that once the belt goes there is no charge in the battery and cannot be started unless jumped. any suggestions?

Have you checked to see if you have a damaged pulley somewhere?

one mechanic told me it was bent another told me that all pulleys were ok. I bought this car from a dealer after my divorce and really do not know too much about cars
