I'm looking at a Magnus sheet metal intake for a 6 bolt with a 2G head. I think I've read somewhere that you need relocate the battery to the trunk, and have a batt kill switch on the outside of the vehicle.

Why would you want to go through all that trouble for a one or two horsepower gain? I can't imagine having to move the battery for any intake. But if you did it definately wouldn't be worth it.

Yes you will either have to relocate the batter of buy a slimmer battery. They make special batteries that are about half the size. A local DSM buddy of mine runs the Magnus and some tiny battery he bought of the 'net. It cost him ~175 if I remember correctly though. The relocation is better IMO.

A friend of mine just used a smaller battery. I reloacted mine to the hatch, there are pics on my site IIRC. I pulled the tranny and motor so often it was nice to eliminate one more thing from the list.
If you plan to race hte car you'll need a kill switch outside the car on the rear if you relocate the battery. The switch has to cut all power from the battery AND kill the motor (which will continue to run off the alternator). I used the Flaming River switch with the extra contacts, and ran the fuel pump rewire through the normally closed set. Since we dont have a rear firewall you also need to used a box that is completely sealed and vented outside the car (through a tube that you can run through existing holes in the bottom of the hatch). For the poeple less familiar with DSM intake manifolds, you can expect a 3-4 lb/min gain in airflow without raising the boost with a good one like the Magnus, BJs, etc. Well worth the effort if you have enough turbo to make use of it. What I mean by that is if you are mnaxing out your turbo already, a manifold wont help noticeably.
