Here is a good one.. Highbeams make my tailights go out..

99 Z24 - When I flick my highbeams on, my dash lights go out and my rear tail lights... Which the nice officers who stopped me last night were more than happy to let me know..

Does anyone have any idea what the hell is wrong? Fuse? wiring assembly??

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hmm that sounds reasonable... will check that. Thanks.

I also have some interior issues as well, that seemed to have cropped up, so hopefully this isn't too expensive...

Niece has a 94 Cav and it is blowing the fuse taking out the rear running lights and the dash lights only. She thought she was using her turn signal when they went out which would point to the multifuction switch being the culprit but I don't have the wiring diagrams to see if that switch ties into the dash light circuit. Did you ever solve your problem? Any help appreciated.

I'm sure it's just a short in one of the wires, could even be a fuse problem maybe? It would probably be easier to take it to a dealer rather than re-wire the whole car yourself....unless you're that good.

"Somebody has never driven on the country roads before." Country roads don't have any street lights. Go drive on one without high beams and try to avoid critters and you let me know how that went.

I do it all the time. I dont think I ever use my high beams. They are only for blind people.

Yeah, personally I drive around at night with my dash lights turned off too. That way it's always a surprise when the officer tells me how fast I was going. Plausible deniability my friends

My highbeams don't seem that bright. Suggestions for new ones?

But the problem you are having is also a new one to me. To me it seems like a wiring problem with your electrical.
