Angry Low Fuel Indicator Lamp

I have a 92 Prelude S and I can't seem to find anything on this subject anywhere. It has been driving me crazy since I've had the car of three years. My low fuel indicator lamp doesn't indicate anything. I know that it's supposed to work because there is a slot for it on my dash. I've already tried replacing the bulb in there and that still did not do it for me. I've also made sure that the contacts on the little connector are touching the panel board. This is the only lamp on my board that I cannot get to come on. Everything else comes on when need be. Suggestions? I know it's not very important for it to work, it's just one of those small things that's always staring at you and laughing because it knows it's driving you crazy. Thanks

do you mean at start-up? as far as i know, the low fuel light doesn't come on even at start-up (unless of course you are really low on fuel)... i've never had mine come on either... but the lowest i've been in fuel still had 5 litres left (out of the 60 litres total - sorry for the metric but i'm a canuck)... a long time ago i changed the bulb for good measure... i believe if you access the fuel pump via the access panel you can short the sensor to see if it comes on - personally i'm too lazy for that - but report back and let me know (:

the light usually kicks in when you have no bars left on the gauge.

interesting... as soon as there are no bars on the gauge? or a while after there are no bars on the gauge?

because i've definetley had no bars, and no light - but then when i go to top up - i've only used say 55 litres of my 60 litre tank - which leaves 5 litres unused so perhaps the light doesn't kick in until there is like 3 litres left or something.. sometime i'll have to drive around with a jerry can in my trunk instead of playing chicken with myself (: just to see if i can get that dam light to come on.

Thats kinda strange. My fuel lamp lights up for a short while when theres 2 bars left, then when i get to 1 bar it practically stays on. I also noticed the light gets brighter with less fuel that there is.

interesting.. but can you confirm (or anyone with a 4th gen for that matter) that the low fuel light should come on when you turn your car to ON (but not started).. is it one of the test lights that should come on? or not? i'm pretty sure that on all fourth gens it doesn't "test" illuminate at startup.

I can positively say that the low fuel light will not go on at startup.
