If you want to go with a tried and dyno proven chip for the 99+ Cougar, contact ADC at www.arizonadynochip.com. If you want something to reflash the pcm with contact ADC or www.brenspeed.com.

oh that one...the ones you can pick up at radio shack for a few cents. Some Ranger dynoed that ebay resistor chip. For some reason he was putting down really low numbers and then realized he had installed one of those resistor chips and forgot to uninstall it. Anyways, he took it out and immediately picked up a 20 whp and 15 wtq. Its a complete waste of money, and will guarantee a loss of hp. I can find the dyno sheet if you want. More fuel does not mean more hp.

EDIT: Found the thread with the hp numbers

1st Pull: 140.68/177.05
2nd Pull: 137.41/173.00

After removing the Wonder Chip

3rd Pull: 160.27/191.98
4th Pull: 161.73/187.22

thats weird it caused a power loss, i got one off ebay and tried it in my cavalier and i DID notice an increase in power, not much of one but it was enough to feel, however i didnt even keep it in there a day and i was looking through the cavalier forums for info on them, after reading just 2 threads i went and yanked that piece of shit right out, bascially it does give your car more fuel, but since your car has nothing to burn that extra fuel, the shit (fuel) builds up and up and forms a nice layer or carbon on your vavles causing them not to seat properly, and thats where you will lose power, it will take maybe a week or 2 to notice this power loss but in the end you WILL have less power then you originally started with

keep in mind this is just what i heard

put it on a dyno. If 10 hp were really that easy to gain, Ford and Mercury would install 1 cent resistor chips from the factory.

Btw, at our Ford Contour dyno day we had last year, every contour/mazda 6 there that didnt have a dyno tune, pegged the wideband rich at 10:1. Adding more fuel certainly isnt going to yield more hp.

I tell ya what. Those 1 cent resistors are becoming more and more rare from radio shack.

what kind???? if its the piece of shit one were talking about, theres a tube that goes from your air filter to your engine, in that tube is a sensor, unplug that sensor and put the resistor in the plug where the sensor was
