1995 Ford Escort LX Horn

My horn goes off when ever the steering is being turned even slightly and stays on till I strighten back the wheel. Any help on how to fix this problem as I am told the horn and arbag is all connected with the sterring wheel. I am in need to disconnect maybe the horn so I can drive the vehicle to go sell it.

The horn is located under the air cleaner box. I think I'd just unhook it. Horns are annoying anyway :-)

Re: Re: 1995 Ford Escort LX Horn

You could also pull the airbag unit out and see what the issue with the horn switch is. Just be sure to disconnect the battery, and wait for atleast 1 min so that the airbag is totally dead. Then unbolt it, and you will see how the horn switch is layed out. The problem is likely a broken filiment, or bent filiment. Just disconnect the side of the horn that is causing the problems, and replace the airbag. Even if you don't fix the broken side, you will still have a working horn.
