Question battery light issue...

i have 2000 focus (not Zetec). the other day the battery light came on while driving. i checked out the battery. the charge was good, but there was only about 13V going to the battery from the alternator. we replaced the alternator (which was bad), but are still having the light come on (it comes on and goes off randomly). it is still indicating that there is only about 13V going to the battery. the relays and fuses pertaining to the charging system all look good. everything seems to be cool except for that light and the voltage coming from the alternator. i am stumped. i have seen a couple others in the forum with similar issues, but no one seems to have come to any conclusions.

any ideas / suggestions???

No suggestions but exactly the same problem in the U.K. The battery light has come on - looks like an alternator problem but the garage had a similar problem with another focus, changed the alternator and then other electrical faults began appearing. Looks like it might be a problem with the main electrical brain of the car.

Will let you know if I find out anything from the Ford dealer....
