Electric windows don't work with doors closed.
I have a 92 mk3 golf vr6 and have recently had a clifford alarm system fitted, since having this done I have problems with the electric windows.
They work fine off the roll overs using the key in the lock and do up ok when i lock the car using the alarm control.
The passenger one can be controled from the switch on the passenger door and on the corresponding switch on the drivers side but only when the drivers door is open.
The drivers one will not work at all off the switch and neither do the electric wing mirror switches.
Both windows will not work off the switches on either side when your sat in the car with the doors closed.
As if that wasn't enough the alarm has an imobaliser that kicks in after 30 seconds so if you are sat in the car and haven't started it you have to re-enable it which effectively locks and unlocks the car again with you sat in it.
After doing so you can only open the drivers from the outside door handle the interior one will not work until you have done so.
I have taken it back to the guy who installed it who has spent hours looking at it but is baffled he reakons the alarm is working fine and is doing everything it should and I agree with him but it looks like there is some kind of problem with the module that controls the windows and locking.
Has anyone seen this before or know what is going on it is very confusing because the windows work.
