JDM Parts

If you guys ever want any prices on some JDM stuff, and you're curious what they'd cost here in Japan, let me know and I'll try to find out for you. Don't ask about engines, only cause I heard they're really hard to get. But anything else, or even just mags like Options or Young Version, I'd be happy to help you guys out if you want

They do, they just dont want to pay for it.

Once you add in the cost of postage or shipping you will find that you cant get parts any cheaper than the wreckers and importers already operating in the states.

Iv found that there only a small collection of 2nd hand parts that are not popular enough for the importers to bring in, that are actualy worth selling to the US.

True...I don't know what shipping would be, but I found some pretty good deals I think. A set of 17" Volks with tires for $959 not including tires. www.wholesalehyperformance.com sells those same rims for $481 each Not sure if anyone would want one, but the 2002 Mugen catalog had a valve cover listed for about $660 and I think they're normally $800 or $900 in the states.

Well to ship a full set of wheel to the states from here would cost something like US$250 then who ever you sent them to would have to pay Duty, and Customs fees etc and then either drive to the Port they arriaved at and pick them up, or have them shipped agian with in the US.

I looked at sending an engine over to the US, and by the time it would have landed on someones door, they could have bought one with mounts and a G/box from one of the importers.

If you have enough money to fill a container and send back then there is deffintly money to be made on JDM parts.

Smaller things are however less of a problem. I can also get brand new JDM parts from Honda NZ, but I also get them with a trade discount, same with 2nd hand parts from a local Honda wrecker which imports JDM wrecks. Doing this I can get a good deal on some 2nd hand parts, but new parts still end up costing about as much as the US importers charge. With the problem that it takes 2-4weeks for me to post it, and the US importers often have it there the next working day.

I'll see if I can find some. Honestly, it's so much easier to get JDM stuff back in the states. Number one reason...communication. Plus that and you can just walk into a motorsports store and ask for dealer parts. Here I think you can only get stock parts from the dealer, and in order to do that, you have to have the title for the car you're getting parts for. LOL...Did that last sentence make sense?

What kind of prices did you get? I've got the hookups so I doubt you can get it cheaper than what I can get it for

shipping thru the APO is about the same price as the rest of the US for USPS Priority mail.

larger items have to use Space Available Mail.
