Blazer SS
Ok, Chevy has the new TrailBlazer SS coming out with almost 400 hp. Now I like the TrailBlazer but not that much so I have been thinking of taking that engine and putting it into my 2000 Blazer! Now I know everyone says that these are not for racing and all that but I want a 400hp Blazer SS. How hard would this swap be? Could I get suspension components that are equal to the sport set up on the TrailBlazer SS? Do I need to replace any electrical parts? Can I keep the tranny the same?
I am seriously considering this. I want to have the only 2000 Blazer SS!! It might be my next project if I do not have to do much electrical work. Any advice info to help me out?

The issue lays in the engine. The trailblazer engines are not a normal design, the 6 cyl version is a straight 6. The only way to make that fit in an s/t is to doghouse the firewall. As to this Trailblazer SS, I don't know the specs on it so I can't say if it will fit or not. I can say the suspension is similar to ours and our trucks can handle v8's without beefing the suspension. As for the wiring, without partuculars it's hard to say... Just from experience it would probably be more of a pain than it's worth.

Re: Blazer SS
the traiblazer SS has one of the new 6.0L V8 from the corvettes, so , and this is just a guess, it would like putting in a V8 into a blazer just not a 350 more like an LS2, i don't think you can keep the same tranny because , i belive the LS block has a different bolt pattern

Re: Blazer SS
Gonna be a tight squeeze... I mean even with an lt or ls1 motor (350) you still have to modify the firewall a bit... Granted, 6.0 isn't much bigger than the 5.7 overall.. Can't say one way or the other on the tranny...V8s10.org could probably answer that readily enough.. Then comes the electrical... That's gonna be a nightmare...(shivering just thinking about it...)
