1984 LTD hard starting
I have a 1984 LTD wagon with 101,000. Wednesday night I drove it 35 miles to school, started up and ran fine. WHen I got out of class I had to crank it and crank it to get it to start. In the last 2 days I've driven it twice and every time it's harder and harder to start. Just wondering whatg to look for. It has electronic fuel injection.

Re: 1984 LTD hard starting
First of all if your driving with a bad oil pump this car isn't going to run for long before you fry the motor. I aways though that electronic fuel injection did not come on these cars until 1986.

Re: 1984 LTD hard starting
At 101K start ckecking the tune up end of it.
Plugs wires fuel and air filter and check out that fuel pressure. Give it a good look over. And do it a favor feed it the good motorcraft plugs the book calls for. Let us know what you find. MT-2500 |
