Re: 2007 Subaru WRX STi?

it seems to go away from the almost boxy, intimidating front end.

it almost looks more like a true 'sedan' to me. i don't like it very much.

I don't want to say it, but I damn nearly hate the 06' one... and the 07' one...? Wow... I presonally think they 04'-05' ones were the best looking ones... But that could be just me. I'm not even to go into how the new ones look...

Re: 2007 Subaru WRX STi?

You posted that it's an '07, now you post it's not.
If you can't look at that photo and see it's a low grade photo rendering, I can't help you.

This forum is getting cluttered up with silly threads and repetitive questions, that's why I'm getting pissed off.

Okay, you're a little late, and what does it matter what the back of the car looks like, it's only a photo shopped mock up of a non-existant car.

That comes from the rally version, the rally version uses an angled radiator and intercooler with fans behind them and a venturi duct which opens out to the top of the bonnet, it allows for greater engine cooling.

That's a good point. Also, if the IC is located under the vent, you probably wouldn't need the scoop behind that anyway, right? In looking at the set-up of the WRC car and the IC, I'm really not sure why there is a hood scoop anyway--does anyone know?

Re: 2007 Subaru WRX STi?

The hood scoop on the WRC is cosmetic only and in place to create an identification point between the WRC Impreza and the WRX/WRX STI Impreza.
In fact, the hood scoop has a blanking plate underneath it that minimises the amount of air flowing in through it, kind of like the '98-'00 RS had in the USA.

Up until 2001 the hood scoop on the WRC car was actually funtional in that the air intake was placed under it, in 2002 the air intake was moved to the right side of the front intercooler(top) opening.
