Question 94 Suburban electrical system dead

I turned on my street yesterday and pushed the radio power button to turn it off and the entire car died, all power is off and will not come back on. I had AAA jump it and it wouldn't even light up the under hood light. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be or where to look? I donot have $$ to go to dealer. I put battery on charge but that isn't the problem because if it was the battery, then the charger would have at least lit up the under hood light? AAA said it could be the plates in the battery might have disintegrated and might cause this, but up until this I had no trouble starting. Any ideas, we are down to one car, this one, Help?

Sounds to me like maybe you've lost your ground? Check to make sure the ground to the battery is solidly attached. Also, could be the negative terminal on the battery broke...

Turned out to be a wire from the battery down to the starter and it had gotten onto the exhaust pipe and burned in to.
