2002 GM CD Player, Stuck CD, Ideas???
I have a 2002 Venture, with a GM AM/FM/TAPE/CD PLAYER. Th eproblem is the cd is stuck in the player and I can;t get it out. I'm sure it's something my son did, probably "flicked it" instead of letting the system feed it.
Anyway, I tried for about 1/2 hour last night to remove it with no luck. Interestingly the manual said ti takes 25 seconds before trying each eject cycle, so at least I tried that and waited, but no success. The question is does anyone know of a simpler way to remove the cd other than ripping the whole unit apart? I really don't want to go that route. Thanks for any advice. Mark |

I have a 2002 also but with the dvd and 6 disc changer. A dvd was stuck in the player because of a logical fault and pulling the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) fuse for 30 seconds reset the player and the dvd ejected. The security code in my radio was not affected.
Try this and see if it works for your situation. See if there is a RAP or radio fuse. Otherwise, the cd might be physically jammed in there and you will have to rip it open. |

Re: 2002 GM CD Player, Stuck CD, Ideas???
Jon,
Tried what you said, located RAP fuse location, but nothing there on my fuse panel, empty slot. Looked for radio fuse also listed, under the hood and none there either, weird, another empty slot. Anyone know how I can drop the power to the radio? I was thinking of just disconnecting the battery terminal for a while, would that work? Any ides are apprecaited, I don;t wanna pull this radio if I can help it. ________________________________________ Quote:

Re: 2002 GM CD Player, Stuck CD, Ideas???
I have had this problem in the past with the cd player in my van and the one in my mustang. Is it acting like the cd has already been ejected? I usually get another cd and push it in to the cd player just enough to make the cd player realize that there is a cd in the player and then pull it out and try to eject again. Usually after a few times the stuck cd will work it's way out. I'm sure there is a better less obtrusive way to do this but it has worked for me in the past.

Problem solved!
I disconnected the positive battery terminal and waited for a bit. Hooked it back up and tried the eject and it worked! Saved myself from pulling the player out. Turns out that the logic was screwed up, the system couldn't tell whether the CD was in or out. Got it out and am back in business. Thanks to all that responded!
