push rods and engine ID super riddle

Hello all I've had this 97 lumina sitting in the back drive for some time. I bought a junkyard 3.1 for it and put it in and when turning it over to tighten flywheel bolts fealt good compression. When started it had zero compression. Checked all preliminaries. Checked compression with gage.
This motor is supposedly out of a 96 corsica. It has the rocker arms with nuts and the 97 had the rockers with bolts, roller. I had to set each cylinder individualy with a compression gage, and adjust the valve untill I got the compression I wanted. Then drove around a while and they ofcourse all loosened up.
Here is the my big question. I messured the pushrods out of the supposedly 96 corsica, and they are the 5.8 and 6 ones. The same as the Lumina. Only I have yet to find a repair manual that says there was any such corsica with those and insted says they were 6 and 6.somethin.
Will the valve train work from the 97 with rollers for the 96 with floaters?
Will the heads work?
Does anyone know how to identify this junkyard treasure?
Do maggits get drunk when they bury alcoholics?
Thanks alot for your time.

Re: push rods and engine ID super riddle

IF you switched the heads, you could use the upper end from the roller tappet motor on the ball and pivot motor. you cannot inter-mix the parts. The intake and exhaust push rods are different lengths, so make sure you put them on in the right order.
