honda 96-98 engine #

hi guys, im new to this stuff,

I own a civic 97, 1.6 vtec.
i wanted to know what woudl be the engine # for this model, also do the european and asian civic for this year, have the same engines??

aside from this, can you help me with any upgrades, I've got a cold air intake and the rest is all stock.

look on the engine and it will tell you.

wrong.
his motor code is d16y8. Asuming its a us spec car. No 97 honda used the z6.

best upgrade search its free at adds 14 HP!

yeah it should be the d16y8 vtec (nothing really special about it havin vtec though, atleast in that engine)

The engine code and the transmission code are right in front of the motor. Look to the lower left of the exhaust manifold (the exhaust manifold is just below and in front of the spark plug wires incase you didnt know).
