exhaust

I am doing my firts mod in my 94 Prelude si. I am gonna buy an OBX Evo style muffler from ebay for 50 bucks or so. I am then gonna run a straight pipe, removing the cat as well.

All in all it will run about 130.00 for this setup. Are OBX mufflers any good? I know other "better" cat back systems run 3-400 bucks and i aint rich. Will this be just as good the way i am going? I have a mechanic who will run the piping for 80 bones. i figure thats cheaper than most. Suggestions???

yeah dude its gonna be loud : ) you might wanna have the mechanic throw in a high-flow cat, or a resonator...just so the Po-Po aren't on your ass ; )
but really...any strait-though muffler with a complete pipe job will give you some gains, just make sure he uses "mandrel bends" tho, you lose pipe diameter with normal bends.
oh, did you get a header by any chance? the whole package works well...header + pipe + muffler.
might as well get an intake while you're at it...or even make one...its not that hard...just make sure the filter is a name brand...AEM, K&A, ect...some of the shit on eBay is just that...shit.
intake, header, exhaust (I/H/E) is a good start for mods...just remember...you get what you pay for.

Re: exhaust

Shell out $80 and buy a carsound high flow cat, otherwise your car will just sound loud and obnoxious.

Re: exhaust

if you don't want rice sound then don't buy an ebay muffler to begin with because it's gonna sound like ass. Save your money and get an actual catback exhaust.

Re: exhaust

You can still buy off Ebay, just get a name brand. I got my RSR off Ebay for a hell of a deal. And that's one of the best exhaust's you can buy. IMO.
