Tune Up Question
Hi guys. I just bought a 97 Bravada about 5 weeks ago. It had 67K miles on it and runs very well. I am currently getting about 16.5mpg in town with it. It is scheduled for an oil change in about 100 miles according to the sticker on the window. When I change the oil should I use synthetic oil as I heard it can improve gas mileage? A few other questions I have are:
I was thinking that I will also change the spark plugs too as I don't know if they have ever been changed. Should I use AC Delco platinum plugs, and should I replace the distributor cap and wires when I do this? Also should I change the fuel filter as well? Lastly I was thinking of adding a cold air intake as I see they can be bought off ebay for about $50 or so. Is it true that CAI are useless without also adding a free flowing exhaust? Thanks for any info. |

Re: Tune Up Question
yes to everything! haha!
yes synthetic oil is fine for your engine - it will help rejuvenate the seals yup, I'd change those plugs to ACDelcos - they're more expensive but better for your truck yup change that fuel filter yup - wouldn't do the CAI before the exhaust ... also, get a manual for your truck and see what other maintenance should be done at your mileage (67K) Quote:
