Re: hifonics

yup ive owned a couple of em.

very solid for the price. hard to find a good amp as cheap.

BUT watch out cause theyre overrated.. liek the 1500d puts out 1300 rms on a good day. the newer ones (1605d) are prolly better but still not the rated rms.

but im happy with the ones ive had.

if youre on a budget then theyre solid. but how much do you have to spend? and which model you lookign at? and what are you runnign it on?

I bought the Brutus cheap off Ebay after hearing it was a very solid amp for the money. I took it in, and had it installed to run my Audiobahn 15" 1506T sub..after 5 seconds of listening I noticed some bad clipping, and it didn't stop. I wouldnt go back to old skool amps that are overrated.

Re: hifonics

haha you bought an audiobahn 15, hooked it up to a brutus, and noticed that the amp was makign it sound bad? haha

well.. could be if you actually would know how to recognize clipping.. which i suppose you may..

also what size was it? were you underpowering the sub like mad and just cranking the gain to compensate?

dotn assume that just cause it was installed by a shop that they knew what they were doin....

dont know of too many amps that clip with properly set gains.. even if to set it right you have to assume youre gonna come shy of the true rms

Re: hifonics

amps dont cause clipping with properly set gains, neither do EQ's or line drivers...
