Help Truck Died!!!!

I have a 96 GMC Sonoma sls with a 4.3L vortec v6 and manual tranny, 2wd, i just left home when it all of a sudden chugged and died on me... i finally got it started, but it will only idle. When i give it any gas at all, it chugs, so i looked under the hood, and revved it a little from under the hood and there was a good sized spark appearing... It was coming from (i don't know what they are called) the big looks like spark plug wire that stands verticley next to the throttle body, and it runs to where it splits into the six wires... but the spark jumps from that wire where it connects, to the electical plug right next to it... when this happens the truck in a sense is bogged down... it pulses on and off making the truck chug... it idles fine, but i can't go any faster than idle... anyone have any ideas, cause i need it for school tomorrow!!!

Re: Help Truck Died!!!!

Yeah, you have a bad coil wire. Possibly a bad coil as well. Start by changing ALL of your wires, they're porbably due.

Re: Help Truck Died!!!!

You should also replace the wires... No reason to throw a new coil in with old wires...
