Lack of power with A/C on

1995 Corsica V6. When the A/C is on, I lose about 50% of my engine mojo. Attempting to get on the freeway with the A/C on is a joke. As soon as I turn it off, I have the mojo back. Are there vacuum lines involved or is it an electrical issue? It acts like a vacuum line is disconnected.

Your compressor and fans are electrically controlled, but the controls are vacuum controlled. Should be a couple of actuators under your dash. Best thing to do is just take your time and search for old/cracked/loose lines on engine, or under dash. Maybe one fell off. I would guess your engine is not in need of plugs, wires, filters, etc? No trouble codes stored?

Also, your A/C system may be overcharged, or your compressor is going out. Have it checked

Thanks. With the cooler temperatures around the corner, I checked my defroster and all the air comes through my A/C vents. I have no floor or defrost vent air for my heat Guess. I`ll get off my lazy behind and see what I can find.
