87 or 94 Octane ???
Hi Guys and Gals,
I brought in my truck to get its 18,000 km service and mentioned to the service guy that I had a pinging sound in my engine when I accelerated. He asked me what type of gas i used and i said typically 87 octane from Chevron. He then said you should be using PREMIUM GAS (94 OCTANE) which is, in my neck of the woods, $1.20-$1.30 / litre  .When i bought the truck they told me 87 octane would run just fine (but it's the same salesman that told me keyless entry would costs thousands to install  )Any tips out there ???
