97 Civic alarm or panic problem

Here's a good one. I'm driving around town. I make a left turn and suddenly the alarm goes off and lights flash just like I had accidentally hit the panic button on the key fab. I pull into a parking lot and start trying to troubleshoot. Pressing any key on the fab doesn't do anything. Finally I shut the car off. The alarm stops. I start the car again and continue on while trying to make the problem happen again. No luck. Any advice?
