clicking with no key

our explorer was running in idle, died and there is an odd clicking noise coming from the front somewhere, even after the key is removed, the only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery, any ideas?

when clicking, start pulling fuses until the clicking stops. Then you'll know what circuit is acting up. Post back and we'll see what we can do.

When you say nothing, you mean it's completely dead? Won't start, no electric anywhere? If that's your case go to the power distribution box and start checking your major fuses. The main is a 175 amp fuse. If that is blown, you're best advised to discover the problem before trying another one. Some ideas would be the charging system, ignition system, dead short in the power distribution box, Battery or generator. Good luck and please post back.
