Is there anyone who can walk me through replacing a fuel pressure regulator in a 1997 Grand Prix GTP. The car died on me, and would start then stop right away. I bent back the tab on the fuel pump resistor and it started and stayed started, then replaced the resistor and it died again. I haven't driven it since and was told to replace the regulator. Is this true and can anyone help with directions. Thanks.

Your GTP should read around 45 - 55 psi of pressure with the vacuum line connected. With vacuum dis-connected it will read somewheres around at least 52 psi. There shoud be no more than a 4 - 7 psi difference with vaccum off or on. If so, then the FPR is bad. As for changing the FPR, it is very easy. There is a c-clip that holds it down on the bracket on the injector rail. Remove it and the FPR will come off by pulling up and out. Its been a while but GM had a recall on them you might check at a dealer to see if its still in effect,good luck.
