98 GA fuel pump

my friends 98 GA started shaking and then stalled out in a parking lot and would only run for about 5 seconds after that before stalling out again. She said the AC quit a couple days before also. I suggested it to be the fuel pump. Could it be anything else? Fuel injectors maybe??

anything is appreciated

Re: 98 GA fuel pump

Unfortunately based on your description it is very hard to diagnose the problem. It could be any number of items. The first thing to do is to check the car for spark and fuel. If there is no fuel the the fuel pump has probably gone bad and will need replaced. If there is fuel then the next step is to check for spark. If there is no spark then there are several possibilities, CPS, Ignition module, coils, cam position sensor, ecm and etc. One easy way to check to see if the fuel pump is bad is to remove the air cleaner and spray some starting fluid into the throttle body. If it starts and run for a short period then concentrate on the fuel system, if it does not start then look at the ignition system.
