that depends... by stock '02 are you talkin bout v8 or v6... i'll just guess v6 since you didn't say z28...

first upgrades i would do would be cold air intake, cat-back exhaust, power tuning (hypertech or whatever brand, if you have an automatic make your shifts as firm as possible), rear axle gears (i recommend 3.73) and some roller rockers

after that move on to headers, high flow cats (or just straight pipe if you're not worried bout emissions) and an alluminum driveshaft (or shafts, i think v6's had two-piece shafts, do some research to find out what you can use)

that should open it up very nicely... after that you're looking at slightly more difficult parts such as a new cam, porting your heads and intake manifold and such

Thank you

Yeah sorry about that. Thanks for the info. Any idea how much HP that would add with just the intake, exhaust and power-tuning?

Re: Performance parts for stock 02

Don't despair, you have a good platform. Check out www.fullthrottlev6.com for all you want to know, but yea basics are a cold air intake and high-flow lid, high flow cat (or straightpipe it and weld the cat's shell around that pipe), and a 3" catback. headers are not necessary for you yet since you have tubular manifolds. don't bother wasting your time or money with a hypertech programmer.

Re: Performance parts for stock 02

oh and all 82-02 driveshafts are interchangeable so if you pick up a nice lightweight aluminum one you'll see some gains

i've seen a v6 '98 gain 20hp from a hypertech tuner... but for an automatic tranny, the biggest improvement will have to be firmer shifts... i suppose you could use a shift kit, but with a tuner, you can get more power and firm shifts...

now if you're planning on going beyond intake, exhaust and driveline mods... as in if you're planning on building up internals then i wouldn't recommend hypertech either, it doesn't work good with actual engine mods...
