Having a bad day?

97 Blazer LS 154K miles.

My blazer is in pretty good shape right now,[knock on wood], and usually is pretty dependable in my day-to-day driving. i have not driven it harder or 'softer' at all recently, its usually pretty consistent. well today, i had a weird day because the 3 or 4 times i started it to go from place to place, there was a slight gulp if you will, in the motor upon startup. the rpm's dropped below 1000 for a hair of a second then came back up and idled rough until i would give it some gas and give it a few secs to re-coop. did this a few times. i checked the oil although its under its regular service- looked good. i checked for leaks, smells, any sort of damage under the hood or to the underbody - looked good. gas was at a 3/4 of a tank. then tonight, it started up fine with no rough idle whatsoever or sign of above-said problems. just wonderin what would cause the weird occurences or if anyone has opinions/suggestions?

Thanks, Ryan

When was your last complete tune up? What did you replace when it was done?

I am not sure what part of a tune up would solve his wierd problem. It would more likely be a waste of $100. I would check the air filter and clean the throttle body - they are easy and free.

Re: Having a bad day?

And replace that fual filter.
A plugged fuel filter will kill your fuel pump, and that gets expensive

Re: Re: Re: Having a bad day?

How long have you driven that Blazer since it was "new to you"? GM admits even their premium platinum plugs (which may have been equipped in that truck engine at that model year) do not last a lick beyond two years of "regular use". And we all know what GM means by regular use - never squeezed more than 1/4 throttle on a closed loop. (Just kidding!)
