Anything to look for when buying a 2002 Jetta GLS Wagon?

We are thinking of buying a 2002 Jetta GLS wagon. It is in excellent condition and seems to be very well taken care of. The mileage is only 37K and it has a 5-speed. I am not terribly familiar with VW and my only personal experience is with a 1990 Corrado I used to own that was fairly unreliable albeit tons of fun. I am under the impression that VW has tightened things up over the last few years though. Also this particular car being a wagon, was made in Germany as opposed to Mexico like the sedans. Are there any positives or negatives that go along with that fact?

Thanks in advance for any tips/feedback!
