93 escort brake problems.

I started to have problems with my 93 escort wagon brakes the other day. The brakes catch on fine, but i believe the brake pedal is loose. You really have to depress the brake pedal more than necessary so the brakes begin to catch on. ANy idead what can be wrong or what i need to swap? Thnx.

So you have to pump the brake pedal a couple of times before you can stop? Sounds like you have air in the system. Probably a bad master cylinder or a leaky wheel cylinder, or you just need brakes.

=======================

if you drive the car and the brakes completly fail...
slowly pull up the emergency hand brake to stop the car....

it happened to my quick thinking 80 year old mom....she pulled the emergency brake.....

Lol thnx, but i rather fix the problem rather than start sweating in the car waiting for the brakes to fail so i can pull up the emergency brake.
