Question 93 gc rough idle insanity

i have a 1993 Jeeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l AT with the same problems as a few other threads here: ie> rough idle, hard starting, stalling, missing about 2000rpm. and i've replaced the following: fuel pump:, fuel regulator:, IAC, TPS, CPS, plugs, wires, cap, rotor.

it's better than it used to be in some aspects. it starts first time every time, no longer bucks me at 2000 rpm, really, it seems to be running ok anytime it's not idling. especially noticable when stopped in gear (even worse with ac) i get rough idle, nearstalls but picks itself up, and some initial roughness on acceleration while in that state.

i'm losing my mind here.

on a happy note, i just picked up a hard top and hard doors for my 93 yj for only $500

Re: 93 gc rough idle insanity

well the IDLE PROBLEM, seems to be your IAC, since you already replaced it, I would start with cleaning the throttle body.

Did you disconnect the battery before replacing these electrical components?

Re: Re: 93 gc rough idle insanity

forgot to mention replaced the intake gasket for suspected vacuum leak. also, when i replaced the IAC, i took the whole throttle body off so i could clean it with a toothbrush and some carb cleaner.

no, i didn't disconnect the battery in any of the previous repair attempts. hrmmmmm
