Re: is this true about a stock intlk
No. An intake is smooth on the inside to allow better flow, usuall has less bends, is made out of aluminum to help keep it cooler and relocates the filter to a cooler place in the engine bay or completly out of the engine bay behind the bumper to pull in cold air. Now a stock air intake with a k and n filter would increase your flow but you still have the rigedness of the stock intake.

Re: is this true about a stock intlk
acutally, it is rather true. tube intakes with element filters produce high emissions. also hondas with stock airboxs and just a highflow drop in filter are known to make more torque. there is a reason why you see high reving, high horsepower motors with tons of mods still running the stock airbox, and if you want to discuss ITB's thats a totally different story.
dont believe everything you read in magazines, also dont post without knowing the true facts. also if you ricers notice, when taking out your airbox, it has 2 or 3 tubes coming off the box itself that go behind the bumper and over the rad to capture "cold air". my stock airbox is cut that i have now and im running a k&n filter. but if i was to do it again, id keep the box uncut, and just remove the resonator, and use the k&n.
