OBD Codes for Shift Solenoid??

My check engine light came on the other day and had it read. the following is what i got:

P0751 Shift Solenoid A Performance or Stuck Off

P0753 Shift Solenoid A Electrical

I havent noticed any difference in the transmission, it was rebuilt two years ago when the sunshell sheared and since then it has run fine. that leads me to believe that this might be a sensor issue and nothing actually wrong with the transmission. I called up a transmission shop and they gave the standard vague "well we will have to get under there and see might be upwards of 2000$ or more" so they were no help.

So has anyone else had this problem (concerning the OBD codes) and if so what was the solution?

info on car:
1999 Chevy Tahoe 2dr 4x4
5.7L Vortec
4L60-E automatic transmission

Thanks for any help on this

JD

Re: OBD Codes for Shift Solenoid??

have you tried the 4wheel drive, assuming its an electric push button transfer case.try that and eliminate the transfer case

A bi directional trans capapble scanner can command and confirm operation of that solenoid.
