Oil filter mounting plate
So earlier in the week I posted a thread about my car (1993 Accord Ex 2.2 liter) having an oil leak. I took it in to find out what exactly was leaking oil. Turns out its the gasket or adapter or something to with a part called the Oil Filter Mounting Plate. No one in town has this part. Not O'reily's or Autozone. So they're telling me to take it to the dealership, or buy the part from the honda dealership. So my questions are has anyone had this problem before and how much does a part like this cost seperate from labor and with labor?

Re: Oil filter mounting plate
This adapter mounting plate can be a couple of things. In the newer models, they run coolant through it to cool the oil. (oil cooler) The part is removable. On the side towards the block, there is a O ring that seals the unit to the block. On the other side is the oil filter. You just need to remove the unit and replace the O ring. If there are coolant hoses connected, it is easier to just cut the hoses and replace them at the same time. The dealer parts department can show you a exploded parts diagram and can sell you the parts that will fit.
